The Federal Government has described the death of the famous designer of the national flag, Taiwo Akinkumi, as a sad one, noting that his contribution to uniting Nigeria will never be forgotten at a time when the country is working towards reinventing peace, development, and national reconciliation.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who conveyed the Federal Government’s condolences in a statement in Abuja, says the national flag has remained a national symbol and an asset, and the late Akinkunmi has etched his name in the nation’s history.
