As part of efforts to ensure inclusiveness and a sense of belonging to cushion the effects of the removal of fuel subsidy, no fewer than 4,000 widows, elderly persons, and divorcees have benefitted from over 4,000 bags of rice and cash palliative by the Katsina State government.

In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Katsina state governor, Ibrahim Muhammed, the distribution aims to alleviate the hardship those categories of persons are facing.

According to the statement, the flag-off ceremony took place at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium within the metropolis under the umbrella of the ‘Vulnerable Women and Elderly People Empowerment Program’ of the State Government which Governor Dikko Radda personally supervised.

The beneficiaries who are mainly from Katsina Local Government Area, also received a cash donation of 10,000 Naira aside from the food provision where each of the 4,000 beneficiaries went home with a bag of 50 kg rice.
