Aviation ministry on UAE Visa Ban Implementation

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo says Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates have commenced implementation of the five-point agreement signed during President Bola Tinubu’s visit to Abu Dhabi last week.

Keyamo stated this at the closing ceremony of the 7th Africa Aviation Summit and exhibition in Abuja with the theme “stepping up for business”.

Over 100 airliners and other aviation exhibitors across the globe participated in the two-day 7th aviation Africa summit and exhibition in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital to share experiences, new ideas and chart ways on how to improve the sector for safety standards and economic growth.

During the closing ceremony Nigerian govt, domestic airlines, and some African countries signed a memorandum of understanding to improve the sector for the benefit of the countries.

Addressing journalists after the closing ceremony, the minister of aviation and aerospace development, Festus Keyamo said the federal govt and the leadership of United Arab Emirates have began implementation of agreement signed during President Bola Tinubu’s visit to Abu Dabi particularly the resumption of Emirates and Ethiad flight operations to Nigeria including the suspension of visa ban on Nigerians.

Participants at the event are hopeful that the summit and exhibitions hosted in Nigeria will ursher new opportunities to speed up the development of the aviation sector to boost the weakening nation’s economy.

The Aviation Africa 2023 summit aims to continue to build on achievements of the past 6 annual events in building and shaping Africa’s aviation industry.

By touring the event around the African continent, it can better serve the African countries’ different requirements for open skies and growth.
