The Candidate of the Social Democratic party, SDP, in the November 11 KOGI governorship election, Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, has called on the people of KOGI state to continue to pray for God to improve the fortunes of the State.

Ajaka said this when he visited some Christian and Muslim communities to solicit their support and prayers for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Public workers in Kogi state say for seven years they have not received full monthly salaries, a situation they explained had led to untimely death of many civil servants in the state.

They said that worst hit are the primary school Teachers and local government workers who have been turned into to beggars.

They also alleged that the state has been plunged into mismanagement of public resources, infrastructure decay and abuse of human rights by the present administration.

These religious leaders are, therefore, calling for divine intervention for the liberation of the state from the shackles of bad governance.

The SDP Governorship candidate, Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, said it was worrisome that the state was being held by the jugular by those currently in power and call for fervent prayers against the enemies of the state.

The Christian and Muslim leaders are, however, hopeful that God will soon raise a new crop of political leaders to rescue Kogi state from its current socio-economic and political doldrums.
