As part of enforcement of the Covid-19 guidelines issued by the Cross River State Government during the Eid-El Kabir prayers in the State, the Taskforce Response Team embarked on Inspection of some mosques in Calabar, the State Capital.
The team led by the Commissioner for Health, Dr Betta Edu during the enforcement inspections said the safety protocols were important at all mosques and prayers centres during the Eid-El Kabir celebrations.
She commended Muslim faithful for their strict compliance with the Covid-19 preventive guidelines during their Eid prayers in calabar and its environs.
Edu urged the people of Cross River State to take responsibility for their health, saying community testing at the grassroot will be a continuous exercise.
She advised citizens with chronic illnesses to always stay at home and avoid large gatherings with emphasis that the “No Face Masks No Movement” policy is still in operation in the State.
