Gunmen have reportedly killed the Ardo of Panyam, in Mangu local Government Area of Plateau state, Alhaji Adamu Gabdo.

The deceased, was reportedly killed in the early hours of Sunday September 24, 2023 while returning from a peace meeting with some local community leaders in the area.

Chairman of the Mangu Transition Implementation Committee Markus Artu, who confirmed the incident described it as an act of Criminality by hoodlums who are bent on destroying the Peace being enjoyed in the State just when Normalcy has returned to most affected communities.

The Mangu Council Boss while appealing for calm amongst residents said he had already directed security operatives to go after the Perpetrators of the evil act.

Reacting to the development in a statement on Sunday, the Fulani group operating under the aegis of Coalition of Fulbe Professionals in Africa (COFPIA), expressed sadness that the killings came when the special military outfit, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), and other stakeholders had restored peace to Plateau State.
