Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, has appealed to the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, to suspend its proposed nationwide strike action over fuel subsidy removal.
The governor, who said this during his Independence Day broadcast, called for dialogue to resolve all issues at stake in the interest of the masses, and the country.
The Governor’s independence broadcast also highlighted his administration’s free, and compulsory education policy, calling on citizens to ensure that Taraba children, especially those from poor backgrounds, benefit.
Governor Kefas also disclosed the plan of his administration to propagate modern agricultural farming methods through mechanized farming.

The Governor says the Government has restrategized to address insecurity in collaboration with the appropriate agencies as well as the traditional institution and therefore appealed to Taraba people to support his administration to achieve the goals set out by his Government.
The Governor pardoned 17 Correctional Service inmates and reversed the death sentences of four (4) prisoners to life imprisonment in the spirit of the independence day celebration.
