The Governors of the All Progressives Congress, APC say they are irrevocably committed to supporting the party’s candidate Osagie Ize-Iyamu to emerge as the next Governor of Edo State.
The APC Governors made the pledge at the Edo APC Governorship campaign flag-off which took at University of Benin Sport Complex in Benin City, the state capital.
The delegation of APC leaders to Edo State led by the Chairman of the party’s National Caretaker Committee and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni included the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Governors of Kano, Lagos, Imo, Niger and Kaduna, ministers, and other chieftains.
Upon their arrival in Benin City, they headed straight to the palace of the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II to present the party’s governorship candidate to seek his royal blessings.
After meeting with the Benin monarch, they immediately proceeded to the venue of the APC governorship campaign flag-off and one after the other they addressed the party’s supporters.
The Chairman of the APC National Caretaker Committee presented the party’s flag to Ize-Iyamu after he had earlier received the party’s flag from President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
