The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ebonyi State has reelected the 39-member of the State Working Committee to continue to run the affairs of the party for the next 4 years.
Incumbent Chairman, Onyekachi Nwebonyi, and his other executives were all returned unopposed in an exercise supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC amidst tight security.
The Chairman of the Party’s State Electoral Committee, Chinwe Mba, who announced the results, said the election followed due process.
Addressing party supporters shortly after the exercise, Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi said PDP in the State is currently the strongest party in the whole of South-East.
Umahi who is the leader of the party in the State was visibly impressed with the peaceful conduct of the election, vowed to make transparency the watchword of the party in Ebonyi State.
In his acceptance speech, the rwelected Chairman, Onyekachi Nwebonyi, promised to entrench internal democracy in the party.
