COVID 19: Postponed Ogun Festival in Ire Ekiti claims three lives

At least three persons lost their lives in Ire Ekiti following a crisis that erupted in the community over the suspension of the annual Ogun festival.


The crisis erupted after the Oba In council announced the suspension of the festival in observance of COVID-19 protocols.


Ait.live gathered that the palace of the Monarch, Victor Bobade and Police Vans were amongst the properties allegedly set on fire by irate youths.


Reacting to the incident, the traditional ruler of the town, Victor Bobade speaking from his hideout, appealed to residents to remain calm and give peace a chance in the community.


Also, the Chairman of COVID 19 task force in EKITI state Professor Bolaji Aluko maintained that all religious gathering remain banned in Ekiti state until further notice.
