The Abia State Government says there is no going back on its decision to relocate the Abattoir at Ogbo hill Aba, the commercial city of state.
Speaking during a meeting with traders and leaders of the market, in Aba, the Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Cosmos Ndukwe said the indiscriminate pollution of the Aba river and contamination of air around the market had become a huge source of worry to the state.
Ndukwe in company of his Agriculture counterpart, Ikechi Mgbeoji assured the traders that government will get theb new location ready before the November 2nd deadline for the relocation.
The traders expressed willingness to relocate to the new site, but urged the state government to ensure that the place is conducive for business to thrive.

Recall that some years back, Abia State Government relocated the cattle market at Garki in Umuahia, to Lokpanta along the Enugu /Portharcourt express way following degradation of the environment
