Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, says the case of late greatness Olorunfemi who was allegedly denied medical attention at the Maitama General Hospital after being pushed out of a moving vehicle by “one chance” syndicate in the FCT cannot be swept under the carpet.
The minister who said this during an unscheduled visit to the accident and emergency unit of the hospital, also noted that it has become the practice in some hospitals to deny injured or sick persons urgent medical attention which often results to deaths.
The matron in charge of the accident and emergency unit, Habiba Musa, however, said the lady was brought in dead and was not denied medical attention by the nurses as reported.
