The Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Mohammed Ali Pate has unveiled the 2023 operational guidelines of the National Health Insurance Authority.
The minister during the unveiling in Abuja, noted that the guidelines would help the poor and most vulnerable in the country have access to affordable quality health care.
The National Health Insurance Authority was signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari on 19th May 2022. It was established by the NHIA Act 2022 to provide financial access to quality healthcare for all Nigerians
The guideline is expected to provide easy access to the poorest of the poor and vulnerable in the country have access to affordable quality healthcare and save lives

The guidelines will also help develop the healthcare value chain that would ensure that Nigeria produces what it consumes in order to lower the cost of accessing healthcare.
With the measures already taken by the Federal Government to revive the health sector, it is expected that state governments will key into the federal government initiative.
