Residents of Ireakari and Unity Estate in Ado-Ekiti have disrupted the flow of traffic in the town as they staged a protest against what they described as oppression by certain persons in government.
The Community which is located in a Government Reserved Area has been having a running battle with some government officials for a few months now over the appropriate location of the Main Gate being erected in one of the exit routes.
Armed with different placards, the protesters claimed that there is a deliberate attempt to force them out of the community through illegal means by mounting another barricade which will hinder the free movement of residents in the community.
Reacting to this development, the Chief of Staff to the governor who is also a resident of the area says the people of the community have a right to protest against any act inimical to their welfare, stating that there are security questions that need to be answered hence government will look into the matter.
