Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku has charged traditional rulers in the state to be more vigilant on happenings in their domains, in order to address the rising security challenges.
Governor Ishaku was speaking at a meeting with Third Class Chiefs in Jalingo.
The Governor reminded the traditional rulers that the creation of 49 chiefdoms by his administration is a strategy to bring government closer to happenings at the community level.
He asks them to live up to their responsibilities being the link between the government and the grassroots.
Governor Ishiaku says he is particularly concerned about the increased rate of organised kidnappings in most of the rural parts of the state.
The meeting went into a closed door session, after which Deputy Governor Haruna Manu, briefed journalists on the resolutions of the meeting.

Such meeting is one of several others organized by the Taraba State Government to interface with representatives of all the communities, to address issues at the grassroots.
