The candidate of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) in the September 19 Governorship Election in Edo State, Osagie Ize-Iyamu has accused the incumbent Governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Godwin Obaseki of misappropriating N5.6 billion loan secured from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN) to assist rural farmers to grow their agricultural products.

Ize-Iyamu made the allegation when he took his campaign to Owan West Local Government Area.

While speaking on how his manpower development programme captured in his Simple Agenda Manifesto will turn around the fortunes of farmers in the State; Ize Iyamu accused Governor Obaseki of misappropriating the money meant for farmers to boast their agricultural products.

The former National Chairman of the APC Adams Oshiomhole also took a swipe at Governor Obaseki, accusing him of fretting the money away.

This was as the Council of Chiefs in Sabongida Ora led by the Okpojenaga of Ora, Joshua Akhikhero bestowed an honorary title of the Oyakhire of Ora on Ize Iyamu.

Translated, the title means “the man who has come to wipe away the tears of the people”.
