The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, says it has concluded plans to introduce Hajj saving scheme and to digitise the processes by establishing a training institute.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, Zikirullahi Hassan who stated this during his national tour to Katsina State said, the essence of introducing the twin plan is to make Hajj exercise easier, affordable to the poorest of the poor and to be in line with international best practices.

Hassan who was at the Katsina State Government House on a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor, Mannir Yakubu said, his team is on a national tour to all Hajj camps to inspect facilities. He described the facilities at the Katsina State camp as one of the best in the country.

While unveiling the Commission’s vision for Hajj exercise, the Chairman noted that Nigeria being the 5th largest contingent to the holy land annually has no other option than to introduce Hajj saving scheme and digitise all its processes by establishing a training institute where would-be pilgrims will enroll to acquire skills and knowledge.

This according to him, will become a prerequisite for performance of the exercise with the aim of making Hajj easier, cheaper, affordable and to also aid in planning ahead of every year.

Responding, the Deputy Governor thanked the Chairman and his team for the commendation hinting that the introduction of the Hajj saving scheme and training institute will go a long way to assist the intending pilgrims.

He also added that, the State will replicate the training institute and also digitise its Hajj operations.
