Transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, has reportedly refuted the claim that Liverpool have an agreement in place to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen ahead of the next summer transfer window.

Last week, Italian journalist Valter De Maggio reported that the Reds and Osimhen had come to an agreement over a transfer to Anfield in 2024.

The Napoli star scored 31 goals in 39 appearances as he helped the Italian club win the Serie A last season.

According to Liverpool World, Romano was quick to clarify that the Nigerian forward has not yet confirmed anything. Not even his most recent situation with Napoli, despite reports suggesting that Liverpool had accepted personal terms.

The 24-year-old’s contract with Napoli expires in 2025. Negotiations have been made, but no agreement has been reached.

“Some media are reporting that Victor Osimhen already agreed contract terms with Liverpool,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

“Guys from what I’m told, Victor Osimhen hasn’t agreed anything with any club – not even with Napoli.

“There’s no agreement on the contract extension. Napoli made a really important proposal to Osimhen, in terms of contract, very important salary, the biggest in Napoli history is on the table for Osimhen.

“But he has not decided, and he has not agreed anything with any club. So Osimhen will take his time. Reports of an agreement with Liverpool are not true.

“For sure, Liverpool and many other clubs are keeping an eye on the situation of many strikers. But at the moment for Osimhen, nothing is agreed, and nothing is decided.”

The Nigeria international is reported to not be in good terms with the Partenopei after a mockery video of him was posted on the club’s official TikTok account.

The last season golden boot winner has scored six goals and provided an assist in all competitions this season.

He is currently out of action after he sustained an injury during an international friendly match for Nigeria against Saudi Arabia which ended 2-2.

Meanwhile, he is expected to return to action in December due to the severity of the hamstring injury he suffered.
