The Katsina State government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding, MOU, with an Indian company so as to resuscitate moribund industries in the state which includes NEEMPRO Fertilizer Company.
Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, and Tourism, Mukthar Abdulkadir, who stated this during the signing ceremony at the conference hall of the Ministry, said the move is part of efforts to boost the internally generated revenue of the state.
Abdulkadir hinted that the MOU will not only help to diversify the economy of the state which is largely dependent on Federal allocations, it will also assist in creating job opportunities for the teeming youths in the state.
The NEEMPRO industry is one out of the six other industries to be revived by the present administration with a view to put the state on the map of business hubs in the country, Africa, and the world at large.

In his remarks, the Managing Director of the Indian company, Thomas Chackunkal, said apart from revamping the industry, his company will also go into different areas of the NEEM seeds and plant aimed at making Katsina an organic hub.
