Education Minister appeals for release Of abducted school children and teacher in Kaduna

The Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajuba has appealed to abductors of seven school children and a teacher in Kaduna last month to release their victims.

The appeal is coming As Nigeria joins countries of the world to mark the maiden edition of the international day to protect education from Attack,

In the same vein the Head Of Education in emergencies, UNICEF Nigeria, Judith Giwa-Amu says COVID-19 pandemic turned out to be another attack on education, more than imagined.

The Missing Chibok school girls, killing of students of Federal Government Boys College  Boni Yadi Yobe State as well as Dapchi School Girls kidnap, with Leah sharibu still missing, remains huge wounds on the minds of many Nigerians.

As the world Marks the maiden day of protecting education from attacks, on September 9, another 7 missing school children and their teacher in Kaduna last August is called to mind

Covid-19 pandemic  has no doubt added to the list of factors threatening the safety of schools, students and teachers around the world, leaving many more children out of school.

According to the Nigeria Union of Teachers, more than six hundred teachers have been killed in the last decade with no precise figure attached to killed and missing school children

As the United Nations fixes a day to protect education from attacks, it is the desire of education safety promoters and government that education will be safer than ever.
