After several agitations for minimum pensions by retirees, the Federal Government through the Executive Secretary, Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, PTAD, Chioma Ejikeme, says there is nothing like minimum pensions and it is not recognised by the government.
The PTAD Executive Secretary, who also regretted that some retirees are being owed about 20 months salary arrears, disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a state of emergency for prompt payment of civil service pensions.
Ejikeme stressed that the problems in parastatals pensions will be resolved soon with a commitment to ensure prompt payment of pensions and gratuity.

The PTAD said that among other plans, it is working on health insurance for pensioners, the war against pension scammers and fraudsters as well as recovery of legacy funds and assets.
