Niger State Government has approved the dismissal of 80 of its civil servants for committing various crimes.
The Head of Service, Salamatu Abubakar, made this known in an interview in Minna, the state capital.
Abubakar said that those affected cut across the cadres of the civil service.
She hinted that already, the list has been forwarded to the state’s civil service for further action.
The Head of Service gave the breakdown of the ministries and parastatals to include the Niger State Judiciary which has 22 persons, seven in the Ministry of Health, while the Niger State Primary Health Care Development Agency has three persons and the Niger State Hospital Management Board has 45.
Others are the School of Midwifery and the Niger State School of Health Technology which has one each.
The Head of Service explained that the screening exercise is still ongoing.

The exercise is aimed at ensuring that the state’s civil service is sanitized and transformed, to ensure optimal productivity.
