Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has laid the foundation laying of a sixty bed capacity of new cottage hospitals in four local government areas of the state.
The foundation laying of the cottage hospitals in Gombi, Girei, Shelleng and Lamurde are due to the health care demands in the local government areas.
Governor Fintiri decried the shortage of the state-of-the-art facilities in most hospitals across the state.

The governor said his administration is committed to ensuring that all the healthcare centres in the state are repositioned for the better.
To bridge the manpower gap in the health sector, the government has approved the employment of one thousand, one hundred and thirteen health workers, who will be deployed to the various health facilities in the state. He also announced the commencement of the Health Insurance Scheme in the state
