Kogi state

Schools at all levels in Kogi State resumed on Monday after being closed for months to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

A visit to some of the schools in the State capital, Lokoja metropolis where there was a high turnout of students, showed a low level of compliance with government guidelines on COVID-19.

Excited students were as early as 7 am in their various schools ready to get back to the classrooms.

While the student turnout was high, the same could not be said about the level of compliance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines; except for a few exceptions like Saint Clement Minor Seminary Adankolo.

The State Polytechnic Lokoja also recorded a high turnout of students and lecturers amid anxiety over poor adherence to COVID-19 guidelines.
