Suspected herdsmen have again launched a coordinated attack on two communities in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State, North-Central Nigeria killing seven people including three relatives of the State Police Public Relations Officer, Sewuese Anene.
According to eyewitness accounts, the gunmen numbering about 1O in the early hours of Saturday attacked Tse Gamber in Sengev Council Ward killing four people.
AIT.live source who pleaded anonymity said, Nagi in Mbachohon Council Ward which is a settlement along Naka-Agagbe Road was also attacked in the evening of Sunday, killing three people and injuring many others.
Bodies of those killed were yet to be recovered for fear of another attack according to sources from the area.
Confirming the attacks State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Sewuese Anene, said that she lost three of her cousins.
Anene who hails from the affected local government made this known to newsmen in a WhatsApp chat.
