The 2019 vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has appealed to Igbo residents in Edo State to ensure they turn out in large numbers to vote for the standard-bearer of the party and incumbent Governor of the state, Godwin Obaseki in Saturday’s election.
He made this appeal when party leaders of the PDP in Edo and Governor Obaseki met with the Igbo Community Union in Benin City, the state capital .
Obi was in Edo State to solicit for votes for the re-election of the incumbent Governor of the state.
He told members of the Igbo Community Union that the Governor is committed to the development of the state and wants to see to the enhancement of all residents in the state regardless of the tribe they belong to.
The PDP vice presidential cadidate appealled to them to ensure that they deliver block votes for the standard-bearer of the party.
The Chairman of the occasion, Sam Ohuabunwa, decried the way the Governor was treated by the All Progressives Congress, APC.
On his part, Obaseki promised to continue to sustain the transformation agenda embarked upon by his administration.

The Governor was, thereafter, installed as the patron of the Union in recognition of his exemplary performance in the last four years.
