Birth Registration: Only 54.6% of under-five children registered in Kano – UNICEF

The United Nations Children’s Fund, (UNICEF) says, only 54.6% of under-five children’s births are registered in Kano, compared to the 57.3% at the national level.

The Chief Of The Unicef Field Office in Kano, Rahma Rihood Mohammed Farah, said this at a media dialogue on birth registration in Kano.

Farah added that the Multi-cluster Survey (MICS) 2021, indicates that under-five birth registration is as low as 23.6 per cent in Jigawa State and 67 per cent in Katsina.
