The President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) Mr. Samuel Ocheho has expressed shock over the death of ace journalist Ignatius Ikechukwu Ajuomona.

The late Ajuonuma who worked with the Africa Independent Television (AIT) passed away after undergoing a medical operation for an undisclosed ailment and amidst the outpour of tributes, Ocheho described Ajuonuma as a friend of handball who, despite his disability, covered all the competitions of the Handball Federation of Nigeria with love and dexterity that the job deserves.

” I received, with great shock, the death of Ignatius Ajuonuma this afternoon” Ocheho said on Sunday.

“Ignatius Ajuonuma who is never sad and full of life was our friend in the Nigeria Handball family as he always covered our competition no matter where we hold them in the country with the deste”

“I expected to see him doing his thing as we plan towards the forthcoming second phase of the Ardova Handball Premier League 2023 because of his great support in publicizing the league from the very first in the year 2018 on his platform on AIT.

“He has always been one of the several who have helped in the continued growth of handball with his quality reportage and his constructive criticism of our programmes and activities”. Ocheho said

The President of the HFN commiserated with the family of the deceased and with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) as well the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) on the loss.
