The Governors Wives’ Forum has demonstrated commitment towards ending gender-based violence and other vices in the society.
The Forum gave the indication during its quarterly meeting, held in Bauchi State, North-East Nigeria.
led by Kwara State First Lady, Professor Olufolake Abdulrazaq, the group says the meeting provides a platform for members to deliberate on the issues related to women and other social vices that are undermining the roles of women and other vulnerable groups.
The forum also resolved to intensify advocacy campaigns and raise awareness about the importance of the human papillomavirus vaccine across the country.

The Forum had earlier paid a familiarization visit to Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, who was represented by his deputy, Awwal Jatau, at the Exco Chamber of the Government House.

The forum also visited the Emir of Bauchi, Rulwanu Sulaiman, to receive royal blessings as well as commissioned the Special Education Centre in Yelwa, a suburb of the Bauchi Metropolis.
The Forum announced its transition from the Nigerian Governors Wives Forum to the Nigerian Governors Spouses Forum.
