The Governor of Ebonyi State, South East Nigeria, Francis Nwifuru says the strategic and important role security operatives play in the development of a society cannot be overemphasized.
Governor Nwifuru gave his assessment on Monday when he received members of Course 32 of the National Defence College, Abuja on a 5-day study tour of Ebonyi State, at the new Government House, Abakaliki.
The governor highlighted the enormous sacrifices and contributions of the military and other security agencies in defending Nigeria’s democracy, assuring that his government will implement reports of the team’s findings that will help in resolving the current security challenges in the state and the South East region.
The team leader and Deputy Commandant of the elite National Defense College, Brigadier General FA Ifeanyi, said Ebonyi is one of the 6 States where the team are undergoing the study tour which will help the participants with an understanding of the socio-political environment of the areas and the country in general.
The Army General notes that the current course, with the theme “Strengthening National Unity for Security and Development in Nigeria” consist of 108 participants across sister agencies as well as 18 international participants.
