Senate Asks FG to Immortalize Ohinoyi of Ebiraland Abdulrahman Ado

The Nigerian senate has Urged the Federal Government to immortalize the late Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Abdulrahman Ado Ibrahim by renaming the Federal College of Education Okene after him.

The resolution of the senate follows a motion sponsored by Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan (Kogi Central)
Calling on her colleagues to Send a condolence letter to commiserate with the family and the people of Ebiraland on the demise of Ohinoyl of Ebiraland. Abdulrahman Ado Ibrahim (February 7, 1929–October 29, 2023).

Natasha noted in her presentation that since he ascended the throne on 2nd June, 1997 as Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, His Majesty proved to be a veritable bridge-builder, peacemaker and a social scientist who was more at home with analysis and actions.

According to her, his vast business empire, provided employment opportunities to several thousands of Nigerians and served in various capacities as

Coordinator, North Central Traditional Rulers Council;

Vice President; Jamatu Nasirin Islam in Nigeria:

Vice President; Kogi State Council of Chiefs;

Vice President; Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs; and

Patron: Miners Association of Nigeria;

She added that he was an eminent and committed leader, incisive thinker and a philanthropist whose interest was to serve both his people and humanity

She pointed out that his demise is a great loss to his family, Ebira Clan, Kogi State in particular and Nigeria in general

Accordingly, the senate resolves to Observe a Minute Silence in his honour, urging the federal government to immortal the late monarch
