Entertainment News: Bauchi-based musician advocates help for orphans, widows

The need to assist the less privileged, especially widows, orphans, and vulnerable children, amidst the current harsh situation Nigeria is passing through as a result of the removal of fuel subsidies by the Nigerian government, has been emphasised.

A gospel musician, Isaac Barka, made the advocacy during his album launch, titled, 100 Songs.

He called on youths to embrace skilled jobs, instead of waiting for white-collar jobs, after graduation from school.

Worried about the level of deaths, most especially among young men, leaving young widows and orphans, with no one to care for their wellbeing, this widow said, the situation is unbearable.

According to the Bauchi-based musician, it is out of pity and concern, he got propelled to dedicate his one-hundred-song album to widows and orphans, with a small gesture that cut across both Muslims and Christians.

Also in his album, “Zaman Banza,” meaning, idleness, the gospel musician drew the attention of Northern youths to wake up and look for what to do, for the betterment of their lives.
