Legendary Kannywood comic actor Usman Baba Pategi popularly known as “Samanja” has died at the age of 81.
Born May 20th 1942 Samanja was said to have passed in Kaduna State in the early hours of Sunday November 12th 2023 after battling an illness.
Being a retired soldier Samanja back in the 80s and 90s was best known for his role as Sergeant-Major in the then popular comedy drama series “SAMANJA” aired on the Nigerian Television Authority(NTA).
The legendary actor can never be forgotten having introduced Hausa comic films in Nigeria.

A statement issued by one of Samanja’s sons Mohammad Usman funeral prayers for the deceased have been held at the Kabala Costain Mosque in Kaduna metropolis
The 81 year old Kannywood actor Samanja is survived by two wives and 12 children.
