Nigeria’s major rivals in the Group C of the World Cup qualifiers, South Africa, have lost by two goals to nothing to Rwanda.
Innocent Nshuti shot Rwanda ahead in the 12th minute, and twenty minutes later, Gilbert Mugisha made it 2-0 as the Rwandans shot to the top of the table.
It means South Africa is now second on the log, pushing Nigeria down to third place.
But in the reckoning of some analysts, the situation gives a lifeline to Nigeria’s Super Eagles, who now have their destiny back in their hands.

A victory over South Africa in June next year will take Nigeria top with five points, ahead of the clash with the Benin Republic a few days later, which many football pundits believe the Super Eagles will win.
