Students living with disabilities in the school for the blind have joined their counterparts from both public and private schools across Katsina State to reopen with appreciable adherence to Covid-19 guidelines.
The resumption of the school for the blind followed directives by the State Government.
Some of the students from the school as well as other schools that spoke to AIT expressed happiness to return to school after about 6 months as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
A visit to some public and private schools within the metropolis saw pupils and students excited to return to school such a long period.
At the government school for the blind, the students were required to wash and sanitize their hands, wear their face masks as well as observe social distance in their classes.
Some of the students expressed happiness for returning back to school after a very long time to continue their education while thanking the government for its efforts.
The situation was similar in other public and private schools visited with appreciable adherence to the Covid-19 guidelines.
The State government provided facemasks for students whose parents may not be able to afford them.
