The Abia State Government has ordered the cancellation of the recently conducted Preliminary Test Sessions (PTS) examinations into Nursing schools in the State.

Authorities say the directive is due to alleged irregularities in the admission process by some individuals involved in the conduct of the exercise.

The Abia State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Okey Kanu announced the cancellation of the entrace examination while briefing Journalists on the outcome of this week’s State Executive Council meeting chaired by Governor Alex Otti.

ait.live recalls that students from the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Umuahia School of Nursing, and the School of Nursing in Amachara Specialist Hospital had recently staged a protest, accusing the Schools managements of bribery, corruption, and irregularities in the admission process for State government owned Nursing schools.
