FG partners private sector, academia for Economic prosperity

The Nigerian Government says it will continue to collaborate with the organised private sector and the academia in efforts to enhance the socio-economic development of the country.

The Minister of Innovation Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, said this during the official signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) between the National Centre for Technology Management (NACETEM) and its Technical Partners in the Academia and Private Sector in Abuja.

The minister noted that the private sector with its invaluable expertise and resources would help to shape the trajectory of the Nation’s workforce towards addressing the current economic challenges and prepare the country for future demands.

Uche Nnaji further stated that the Tinubu administration plans to continue to harness science and technological Innovations to drive the nation’s economic diversification and development

He explained that the country can no longer continue to lose billions of naira to other countries in the search for skilled artisans.

This demand according to him has necessitated the establishment of technological and innovation centres across the six geo-political zones for the training of welders to acquire the International welding certification (ISO) to meet up with international standards for global competitiveness.
