Dare-devil Gunmen in the early hour of this Friday December 1, 2023 attacked the residence of Kogi State Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Lokoja.
The Audacious Armed men engaged the security personnel in a gun battle for over 30 minutes before reinforcement arrived.
Reports from INEC in Kogi State says no lives were lost, but property was destroyed in the ensuing gun battle.
A team of combined security personnel have been deployed to protect the residence.

The incident occurred a day after a mob besieged the Kogi state office of INEC following a contentious Governorship election on November 11, 2023.
The Independent National Electoral Commission has called for a thorough investigation and enhanced security protection for its personnel and assets in the state.
