Members of the State Executives of the All Progressives Congress in Bauchi have met and resolved issues and crises bedevilling the party, before and after the 2023 General Election.

It has also passed a  vote of no confidence on the leadership of its chairman, Aliyu Babayo Missau, and appointed his deputy, Mohammed Hassan Tilde in an acting capacity.

This was made known after a meeting of the state executives, by the Legal Adviser of the party, Rabiu Garba.

The state executives of the party acknowledged that there was a crisis within the party which occurred soon after their primary election, up until the general election.

The party executives relied on Article 17, Sub-Article 5 of the All Progressives Congress Constitution 2022 as amended, and passed a vote of no confidence on the state chairman.

While reacting to his removal via telephone, Babayo described the decision of the party as child’s play and said he would fight back through legal means, saying that all the allegations laid against him are baseless.

In another development within the party, a group known as Bauchi APC has accused the national leadership of the party of lack of support for the party, and turning deaf ears to their challenges.

According to them, the party at the state level is bedevilled by a leadership deficit, a lack of internal democracy since 2014, a trust deficit, disunity, and a lack of a common voice to confront problems, among other challenges, and therefore calls for the re-establishment of internal democracy within the party.
