Remains of Chief Veronica Baro Bamuza-mutu committed to Mother Earth

The remains of Chief Veronica Baro Bamuza-Mutu who died at the age of 76 have been laid to rest at her country home Akugbene, in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State.

Late Chief Bamuza-Mutu during her lifetime played an active role in her community, state and beyond having held a number of political appointments both at federal and state levels.

The service of songs for Chief Veronica Baro Bamuza-Mutu which signalled her final journey to the mother earth took place at St Andrews Event Center off Okumagba Avenue Warri.

The remains of Bamuza-Mutu from the hospital morgue was conveyed by river from Akwagbe to Akugbene, made a brief stop over in her family compound and terminated at Akugbene Secondary School, venue for the reception.

Having played a prominent role as a commissioner in the old Bendel State, the burial of Chief Bamuza-Mutu an activist and community leader drew sympathisers that cut across Ijaw ethnic nationalities, Delegates from Bayelsa State, top government functionaries from Delta state including traditional rulers who paid glowing tributes to her life and times.

Chief Mrs Bamuza-Mutu whose funeral Mass was earlier held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Akugbene during her lifetime held the traditional titles of Oriame of Akugbene-Mein and the Arepamo-Arau of Ngbilebri Mein Kingdom, an educationalist, Philanthropist and business woman.

She was survived by 5 children, many grandchildren, In-Laws, and other relatives.
