This appeal was made against the backdrop of the commemoration of this year’s International Day of Persons with Disabilities in Abakiliki, the Ebonyi State capital
State Chairman, Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities (JONAPWD), Franklin Odumegwu Franklin, who described people with disabilities as extraordinary talents, wants a speedy passage of disability right bill for its members to be competitive in the society.
For some of the PLWDs in Ebonyi State who are skilled, the event offers an avenue for reflection on how they are treated in the society, calling on government to support their members who into legitimate businesses

Wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Uzoamaka Nwifuru who was present at the event gave a message of hope to the people, encouraging persons living with disabilities to have self confidence and work hard to escape socio-cultural setbacks.
