FG Flags Off Cash Transfer To Vulnerable Groups In Kogi

Nigeria’s Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, says the 20,000 naira grant distributed to vulnerable groups in Kogi state is not a loan and will not be repaid by the beneficiaries.

Betta said this in lokoja, the Kogi state capital, during the flag off of the exercise meant to reduce poverty and cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal among the vulnerable groups in Nigeria.

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation explained that over 3, 000 Vulnerable Groups that have been identified in Kogi state would ultimately benefit from the gesture by the federal government.

Edu also said that the TINUBU administration remains committed to ensuring that majority of Nigerians are pulled out of poverty.

Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello, says President Tinubu is a Humanitarian leader who has the interest of the common man at heart hence the Kogi state government will continue to do more for the people of the state.

Bello said his administration has keyed into the programme properly through the creation of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and the Kogi state Social Investment Agency
that would be relating with the federal Ministry from time to time.
