Former Presidential Adviser on National Assembly Matters, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to apologize publicly to Nigerian Youths, saying young active Nigerians need healing not shooting.

Ita-Giwa was reacting to Tuesday’s killings of harmless Nigerian youths at Lekki tollgate in Lagos demanding that the President, as the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces should direct the soldiers to stop the shooting.

The former presidential adviser, who was speaking in Calabar, said that youths in Nigeria don’t need confrontation as being done to them by the military.

Confronting them, according to the former legislative aide, will escalate the situation and give the country a bad image before the international community.

On their part, the protesting youths led by Archibong Edet and Philips Ekpeyong described the killings as most unfortunate at a time when there is serious suspicion in the country. They called on international community to investigate the incident.
