The Nigerian Legion is urging the public to continue to support veterans and the families of fallen heroes for their sacrifices in fostering the peace and unity of the country.

The Chairman of the Kaduna State chapter of the Legion, Major Danjuma Barren, made this appeal during the launch of the Emblem And Appeal Fund in Kaduna State, Northwest Nigeria.

The Armed Forces Remembrance Day emblem remains a symbol of remembrance and a beacon of hope for a peaceful Nigeria.

Addressing the gathering at the Emblem And Appeal Fund Launch in Kaduna, the state’s chairman of the Nigerian Legionnaire, in a message delivered by Major Bala Adamu, emphasised the need for the government to care for families of fallen heroes.

He appealed to the Kaduna State Government to establish the Corps of Commissionaires, to help address insecurity in the state.

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani explained that the fallen heroes have sacrificed greatly for the peace and unity of the country and their families deserve support.

The launch of the emblem is part of activities marking the Armed Forces Day celebration on January 15.
