The European Union is to leverage the partnership with Nasarawa state and other sub national governments in areas that would help in improving their socio-economic status.

This was said during the visit of Ambassador of the European Union to Nigeria, Samuela Isopi to Governor Abdullahi Sule in Lafia the Nasarawa state Capital.

The visiting European Union Ambassador, Samuela Isopi while commending governor Sule for his effort at developing the state explained that Nasarawa State is among the areas the E.U is collaborating with in promoting democratic governance, climate change, peace and security as well as support social cohesion and inter-faith dialogue

The Envoy also emphasised the need for enhanced economic ties, promotion of education, agriculture, innovation, green energy and rural electrification.

Appreciating her choice of Nasarawa State for the visit, Governor Abdullahi Sule acknowledged the mutual interest shared between Nigeria and the European Union, saying his administration is poised to ensure that the relationship blossoms.

The Governor welcomed the intention of the European Union to lead investors into harnessing the vast opportunities in Nasarawa State, including exploring areas of gender inclusion, thereby tackling issues that encourage gender based violence.
