The Correspondents Chapel of the Edo State council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ has commissioned its secretariat building in Benin City.
The commissioning ceremony which also featured an end of year party, attracted some top personalities from the state.
Chairman of the chapel, Nefishetu Yakubu said the need to accommodate its growing number of members to carry out their reportorial duties effectively necessitated the relocation to a new building.
Dignitaries who graced the occasion, including the deputy governor of Edo State Phillip Shaibu, highlighted the important role of journalists in democratic development and commended the leadership of the chapel for what he described as a bold step.
