Nigeria’s immediate past minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Lalong says he never had any rift with either the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC or the Trade Union Congress, TUC.
Lalong, the newly sworn- in Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District said for the cooperation of organised labour, Nigeria would have been grounded by industrial action over the fuel subsidy removal palliatives.

Lalong made the comment in Abuja shortly after he was sworn in as Senator.

He said he stood for the muslim-muslim ticket of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, because of his conviction that they will deliver good governance.
Lalong called on Nigerian leaders to think beyond the needs of their immediate constituencies and consider the overall interest of rhe people.
Lalong is a former Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, two-time State Governor, and until Tuesday, (19th December 2023) Minister of Labour and Employment.
