Calabar Looting: Cross River Losses Over N250Billion In Tinapa Resort

The Managing Director of the Cross River State-owned Tinapa Africa Premium Business Resort in Calabar, Ojong Ayiba and the General Manager Francis Ekom have said the destruction and looting of the Company last Saturday will cost over N250 billion to renovate.

The State officials stated this while speaking to journalists during an on- the -spot assessment of the vandalised property.

They said all the four emporiums, water park, over two hundred hotel rooms and the mono-rail were destroyed.

The top management staff said even more worrisome was that the industrial warehouse where private investors kept their goods were also destroyed and set on fire by the hoodlums during the attack.

Some affected operators at the business resort said they lost property worth billions of naira to the attack; calling on the federal and state government to assist them to reduce their losses.

Some hoodlums looking for palliatives broke into the resort; ransacking the warehouse where bags of rice and other food items were stored in a free -for -all.
