The Nigerian Police says it would establish a Special Protection, Counter Protection Units and a Border Patrol Training Centre in Gombe.
The Deputy Inspector General, DIG of Police, Lawal Shehu, disclosed this while on a tour of the proposed facility in Dukku, which was donated by the state government.
The Police DIG said, the need for the school is borne out of the emphasis to train police officers on the current trends of security, crime and community policing.

It will also serve as an impetus in the answer to agitations for reform of the police.
The police hierarchy had paid a courtesy call on the Gombe State Governor where he called on the police to attach great importance to security issues, especially in the North East.
