The Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Otu, has issued a stern warning to those who are still contesting the ancient stool of the Obong of Calabar.
He noted that their unguarded utterances and actions were capable of threatening the existing peace enjoyed by the people of Calabar.
Governor Otu spoke at the 12th Utomo Obong celebration which means, “Homage to the King”, in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
He emphasized that it was wrong for people to make provocative statements on a matter that the state government has already decided on following a ruling by the Supreme Court.
The Governor further stressed that his administration will continue to partner with the Palace of the Obong of Calabar, to provide good governance to the people of the state.
